I have no idea how to add video files in GIMP but I can show you how I do it.

Downloaded video clip frome here http://kotaku.com/gaming/call-of-duty-4/clip-call-of-duty-4-trailer-256150.php using Downloadhelper.

Captured frames from video clip by using ALT+I and frame advance in Media Player Classic and kept them in a folder:

Loaded frames into Animation shop using the animation wizard and then duplicated the stock the same number of times as in the animation:

I then resized the animation to fit the screen on the PSP:

CTRL+C then CTRL+E (Pastes one animation on top of another, as long as they have the same number of frames)

save as MNG then save as GIF.

And done.

What always looks good on a video sig is some static text on top of the video. This is dead easy to do in animation shop but I have no idea how to do oit in GIMP.
