Oh Yessss Cant wait for it I want it here now. It will beat the Dark Knight the first week it opens. Without the Manga Akira there would not have been The Matrix, its as simple as that.

I'm pretty sure The Matrix got its ideas from Ghost in the Shell not Akira. Akira is still amazing none-the-less. Not quite as good as Steam Boy but both had me foaming, giggling, and gawking. I'm not so sure how well a live action remake would be though. There is an extremely strong chance I won't like it. To recreate some of those effects would require a technical genius.

I always get scared when they decide to do something like this.. In the past this kind of live-action movies can't be well done, now they have technology they are remaking movies. It would be such a shame if they destroy Akira's history like they are doing with Dragon Ball.
