Assistance Blending C4D's Into Signatures

Heya,

I am looking for someone experienced to explain the steps taken to properly blend a C4D into a signature. My first successful attempt was in the Ovechkin signature in my profile below.

Remember to set the blending mode to 'screen' or 'lighten' and instead of erasing unneeded parts, try smudging them with a chalk brush at about 95 strength with settings applied.

Yeah, smudging usually gives the signature a nice effect and at the same time blends the c4d in. But smudging can be messy so use the eraser tool to clean up any parts you don't like.
