Basic signature Competition (beginners only)

This competition will be run weekly by myself, Etha.
It's an opportunity for beginners to learn and improve their sig making skills.

Here are the rules:

1) You can only join in only if you class yourself as a beginner and want to learn and improve your skills.

2) Signatures must not be over 400x150.

3) You must include your username on the signature.

4) Everyone must use the same render given and chosen by the runner of the comp...Etha.
The render will be varied each week.

5) The competition will run from Monday to Friday.

6) During this time, once a signature has been submitted, everyone on the forum (beginner or advanced) can comment on the signatures posted and feel free to advise them on what to change to improve it.

7) Signatures can be changed up untill you are happy with the final result. But must be completed by Friday.

8.) Voting will be Saturday untill Sunday.

9) Anyone can vote...(beginner or advanced).

10) You must NOT vote for your own signature.

11) There are no points involved whatsoever. This is just to learn.

Thats not bad at all, but i think its a little too simple.....

Id choose a different font, This one is cool for extras... http://www.dafont.com/sonic-mega-font.font
or
http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=101 in the cartoon section theres loads of cool ones thatll look great

Id also do some more with the background maybe....and blend the renders in slightly, although i dont think the blending is that important with this theme, as its cartoon, so you could get away without having to blend as much.

And any type of border would be better too....black

Id also position the render on the left...more to the right and make it smaller.

But for a rush, its quite cool.

I hate having to coment like this, but i suppose thats the whole point, to try and improve peoples work, by advising lol...i just always end up feeling bad after lol

btw, please someone make a tutorial that has involved step by step painting with brushes cause i am a "painting noob"...

You have photoshop yeah?
I could have helped if you used gimp, but i aint a clue when it comes to photoshop, you know more than i do hun....

I like that new one, the border is cool, the image is a nice size, but i still think the bg is a little plain, but if someone canpoint you in the direction of a good tut, then im sure ya will come up with a cool bg, and itll be perfect then :D

The render is positioned lovely
The text is cool but id change it to the same colour as the render...yellowish lol
I think a thicker border, either a cinema border or a 2 pixel would look kool
Im not too keen on the sharp looking background, i think it needs to be pretty smooth....But overall i think its pretty damn cool :D

Thats sweet! I'd move the text over a little bit, nice effect but the end is kinda messed up because of the glove. I dunno, it might be mebut I always like clear readable text =]

yea good job! if you want to keep the text there and still have it readable, you could put an outerglow around it maybe?
