I did my bg by...uhh i dont really know how to explain it all. But uhh its just 3 layers of the same brush with different opacity settings and one layer above the render. Then merge the two layers below the render together. If that makes any sense.

Just out of curiosity, if I wanted to participate in the next one, do I have to send points to anyone (like the SOTW)? Or is it for anyone (following the guidelines) that wishes to participate and can?
niewbe

newbie competitions dont involve points they are just to improve skills.

I only get to play with it on the weekends. So that's approximately 9 days (including Friday). Also, I was under the assumption that most people here have been doing graphics for a few months to a few years now. ^__^
So what qualifies as newbie? ^__^

i apologise about this, ill set one out for next week tonight because of the congestion next week around monday.
in addition, ill make it multiple renders.
thanks for your patience, and sorry about the no show this week'

Um, I guess new to mostly everything. The times I have played with Photoshop I have learned most of where things are and I'm learning new things. I just learned today that when you click on the arrow for the brushes you can set thumbnail views and load other brushes. ^__^
I first started by rendering so I know how to use the pentool very well for rendering at least. I still cannot get pictures to flow and how to choose complementing colors. I don't know how to use text and borders. And I have trouble with blending and smudging.
Other than that, I understand how overlay, gradient, hue/saturation works. ^__^

Well you couldn't have picked a better place to learn then here. Everyone is super friendly. Try doing some of the tuorials. Many of them have pictures, so you can use those to go by, learning awsome tecniques as well as learnign your photoshop. :D
