No, not at all. I wasn't trying to cause an argument, its just people (not in this thread) enter but aren't beginners :S anyway yours is pretty good. I was only wondering cause i want to do it, but theres no point entering if i am going to get screwed over by people who aren't beginners.

A beginner is anyone who classifies their self as a beginner.

As for your second post. You can get screwed over by people who are beginners ands till feel good about yourself? I mean if you fail and feel bad about it, then the quality of the cause to this effect shouldn't be relative. Just join for fun, it's free, and it's REAL. The talent isn't the BEST, but it's not the WORSt. In fact it's not the worst because this competition is here, it motivates people to become better, so when they see a signature that they personally see as more appealing, then you can simply work your butt off to make something even more eye catching. : ]

I've read in a few other places that this was the Basic Signature of the Week, and that it was made for people who wanted to learn and better their designing skills (or whatever you would like to call it)... But yeah, if someone who usually enters the SOTW comp comes and enters this one too, when they don't usually enter it, I think it would be pretty obvious...

okay i know this wasnt directly at me but, since i fit the bill id like to say that although i usually enter the sotw comp and not this one. i never get like any votes there. ive gotten 3 in my career in sotw and would very much like to better my skills so i can go beat those guys in sotw :lol:
i wouldve entered sooner but i couldnt ever see the render. thats changed now so i will enter here more often cause i do consider myself a beginner.

this is the second bsotw competition i've entered, EVER! and i've never EVER entered a SOTW competition.
i've been making signatures off and on for 7 years now? lol. Even still, it was never quite a hobby for me, it was just me fooling around making stuff for friends or myself. Only just recently did it become a hobby. Surrounded by people who give a rats *** about this form of art has turned me into a beginner again. I'm a beginner because this is all new to me. I'm a beginner again because I am just starting to introduce passion in the pieces I create. If that makes sense to you, then kudos.

and about this competition, from what ive seen basically everyone enters. personally i like this competition because i am given a render, and its more specific than a theme. thus when everyone enters you can really see the different styles and concepts on everyones sigs. ive only been making sigs for a month now so i still class myself a beginner, but i wouldnt mind entering another sperate sotw for pros that give a preselected render.

everyone is comparing how long they have been using photoshop.
ive only used it two times in my life lol not months or weeks but total number of times in my entire life.
so i am more beginner than all of you hahaha.

it really makes no difference how long youve used the product it matters how much you know abt it. someone could be using photoshop for 11 yrs and never learn how to use a layer mask for example. so to me anyway, the title of beginner has no since of time. its more based on ones own experience with the interworkings of the tool of the trade.

thats why it would be anyone who considers themselves a beginner.
