thought I would post this. This is what I did to the render b4 making it into a sig. the sigs background is easy and simple. Where as the pentooling is the hard part.

wasn't it you who had a lightsaber tut, that is probably pretty close to the same thing.

you just have to use a layer mask (in ps) to cover up the parts that you don't want to see :D

I use the pentool (set to paths)

stoke the path using brush

my brush settings are about a 9pixel soft or hard brush, with pen pressure set for control

then I mess with the blending options and use inner glow/outer glow

then I make a mask for that layer to hide the spots I don't want.

to make the glow in her hand I just brush a dot then mess with blending options and use outer glow/ inner glow again.

the key thing is to play around with the blending options until you get a good looking outcome :D

Storm, you should take out the ball in one hand, and put it in the open one.

Create a new layer just for that, and then use the rubber tool to remove some of the orb that overlaps her hand, so it looks like its under her hand
