Change the sig requirements...

This is from personal experience. I will be honest in saying that I had every intention of coming here, getting a sig, and never comming back. That changed when I saw how interesting this is and because I realised that's kind of wrong. Now I intend to stay contribute and have fun making sigs for my other forums. I would recomend changing the requirements to like 100 sig points. Or make it so that your first sig requires 100 sig points go to whoever made it, the contest guy or some other source. 100 sig points takes more than 10 posts. After the first one, the rest could be free like they are now.

The staff had this discussion, and the problem we saw was that...

if we put the post count any higher than 10, it might put people off and then decide to go elsewhere.
Also, i have noticed the odd bit of spamming and pointless posts from a couple of new members just to get to 10...imagine what it would be like if it was any higher than 10.

But like anything, we will see how this 10 post rules goes, and if its fine, ya never know, we could higher it...

i reckon that paying for your sigs is a grouse idea. You could measure it by things like animation, time consumption number of sigs. You could even work out discounts for how long they've been here!

I think it would be pretty cool idea.

Also I was thinking, that on the home page you could have some of the 'best works' like the sotw's and really good requested stuff, just to show people what we can do.

I think a kool addition to the request forum would be to add a thread of all of the artists best work. So set it out like this.

And so on and so forth. That way it will give the customers a chance to look at the styles of our srtists and choose which one could make a sig they like. Also be a good way for new artists to earn themselves some sigbar points.

I like the idea of posting every designers best work and their specialty. As well as the pay for signatures thing...

the brushes we use are not our's. they r made by other's who give it to us through sites like deviant art under a common license.......... according to the license, we cannot accept money for the artwork in which their brushes r used.............

I think that charging points for sigs might be an option sometime in the future but for now lets just enjoy the recent changes and see how things work out over the next few weeks.....

We really dont want to change too much too soon if you know what i mean :)

I have to say that I am absolutely overwhelmed with the suggestions made here. I think they are AWESOME. What a brainstorm. You get sigbar points for nothing (I had 100 sigbar points by the time I was done with my first 10 posts [probably because I make big posts]), you are giving people more things to do with them! The possibilities are endless when it comes to this. You could innovate a sort of designer level too. So it would be like "X" Sigbar points for our newest designers, "XY" Sigbar points for our veteran designers or "XYZ" Sigbar points for the specific (avaliable/willing) designer of your choice, where X, Y, and Z are merely increased increments. It gives people incentives to post.

From a Freudian point of view this works extremely well for males (myself being one) because we like to score points. Football, Basketball, etc., all things powered by points, dominantly males fanatics. T.D. can explain it a lot better than I can, but the point is that the sigbar points = rewards idea is pure 24k gold. :)

You could evolve a section into "The Sigbar Store" where it's more implied to read the directions, because it's a store. Of course the currency would be sigbar points.
