View Full Version : Clipping Masks (GIMP)!

Please, please can someone make a tut on how to do clipping masks on GIMP please. (i know how to do them on PS for some reason :?) Ive had a look through the tut index and cant find anything.

well, you know how to use the clone tool don't you? thats it really!

BUT, you can do it this way (this might sound complicated!)

firstly, click on the layer with the image in it you want to be made a clipping mask out of (e.g. text), go to the layers dialog and right click on the layer you are on and click on 'Alpha to Selection'. There will be moving lines around the image(text) you want the clippping mask to be...then go to the layer of the image you want clipped (e.g. the render) and go edit copy. go to the top layer, click edit paste...and then move it to where you want and click new layer.

Argghh I cant do it.

I get stuck at the copy and paste bit. I copy the render and click on splatter brushes - then I paste and nothing happens...
