At first I was not interested, with Harmoincs leaving the GH team for Rock Band I thought I would leave GHIII and just wait for Rock Band. How ever due to a good word from friends I decided to get it.
I must say, it is probably the biggest waste of 120 dollars I have ever seen. Aside from the challenges, everything about GHIII is simply boring. They have deliberatly slowed the bar down so you can 'shred harder' but it only puts you off.
Being a BIG time GHII fan it shocked me so much to find that GHIII is a slow playing boring game... The hammer ons and pull offs' rarely show themselves, even in moments where they should obviously be there. The general accuracy of the guitar is terrible. No matter how ****y it sounds, I can play guitar hero on Expert fairly easily, yet I constantly miss blatant notes on number three.
My sources stand by their word that GHIII is awesome, but I personally am not convinced. If they spent as much time on game play as they did on the video crowd and humorous video clips then maybe this would be a decent game.
I play it and literally feel bored and frustrated... Non of the songs pull you back like they did on GHII and I think is just no atmosphere to the game at all.
Whatever it was that made GH I/II good obviously left with Harmonics, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock lived up to my expectations. 4/10.
