Hi guys,
If you like critiquing others work, are friendly and have good graphics knowledge then this team is for you.
The CnC team will be responsible for giving constructive CnC on all threads in the show off area, whether it be a sig made by a pro or a beginner, whether it be a wallpaper.
If you are unaware what CnC is then this probably isnt the job for you. But just to make sure, CnC stands for comments and criticism and is advice given on peoples submitted art in the Show Off Area.
The Job
1.) Give regular constructive CnC on all artwork posted in the Show Off Area
2.) Manage and help develop other members CnC. Make sure there is no negativity, only constructive comments.
3.) Build up others graphic skill by giving examples of what could be improved as well as positive comments on what they have done well.
4) As a member of the CnC Team you will need to be an active member and regularly try and post CnC.
5) You will need to try and make sure no art is left without comments, as thats the only way people can improve.
The Perks
1.) Free custom titles and the ability to change them whenever you want
2.) You're username will be a different color.

Example Graphics to CnC

The copy on the left is distracting, and also looks bad.
The lighting is good. Text is blended well, and the placement works.
Overall good sig.

First thing I see here is the lighting looks off. Very distracting from the focal. The crown? behind Kobe Dosen't match the sig. Looks bad. Render is blended well.
The right side is a little dark and kindda empty.
Decent work.

Good lighting and C4D. The offset of the text isn't the greatest and is distracting along with the black block below it. The Shadow of a person behind him is slightly distracting over his sholuder...
I like it Good Job overall.

Example of Application
1) Why do you like giving CnC? I like to help other members and being able to express how I feel they can achieve improvement. Its always satisfying to give back to the forum I first learnt at.
2) Why would you be a valuable member of the CnC team? I am a relatively experienced in sig making and feel I have a lot to offer the rest of the forum. I am always online and and have time to CnC most signatures on the forum.
3) How long have you been making graphics for? About 5mths.
4) How long have you been a member of Sigbar? About 3mths.
5) Whats your favourite type of CnC? (eg extremely positive, constructive or negative- give examples) I like to give a balanced CnC of positive and constructive critisism. If a signature needs a lot of improvement I start of with the positive points and tell them stuff they could improve on. I conclude with another positive point and tell them to keep it up and keep trying to encourage them further. I dislike 100% positive and prefer not to be 100% critical, so a balance is nice.
Example Critique:
1.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/dominationspritecopy.png
-bla bla bla- I'm not going to say anything so the rest of you's can't copy :P

3.

Dani's C&C Team Application
1) Why do you like giving CnC?
I like sharing what I have learned with other people. I like seeing people make the edits that I have suggested and have a better tag overall because of it, as well.
2) Why would you be a valuable member of the CnC team?
I give honest C&C without being harsh (at least... I don't find myself harsh) and I try to make it a point to find at least one good thing about a tag and one area for improvement on a tag. I am not normally one of those people that post on a thread and say "gj, kiu" and move on.
3) How long have you been making graphics for?
8~9 months.
4) How long have you been a member of Sigbar?
Approximately two weeks.
5) Whats your favourite type of CnC? (eg extremely positive, constructive or negative- give examples):
I like constructive criticism because it helps people improve while keeping a positive tone. I don't have the time for negative criticism-- it's pointless to just bash on others' work. It discourages them from designing more when the goal is to keep people designing and improving.

The depth in this piece is excellent. The penning lines, however, do not quite blend. Using a soft eraser to erase on the ends will make them look more fitting. The clipping mask is ineffective in this piece since it does not highlight a particularly interesting part of the piece. Sometimes, I think the clipping mask repetition works well in a tag, but in this case, I think it would be better without the clipping mask. Decent tag overall, great depth and good composition is present.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/kobebryant.png
I think in this piece, the lighting source is a bit too heavy and is focused too far from the render. Making the light a little smaller and concentrated on the focal a bit more will help improve the piece. In terms of depth, it's slightly flat, but it's nothing that a little bit of blur tool on the side of the blocks and some shadow near the stock won't fix. I love the text, it looks very fitting for this piece, and the focal blends well in with the squares. It's a great tag.
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/smokincopy.png
I would love to see this stock rendered and placed into a more complimentary background. The effects on this are lovely, the c4ds and splatters work nicely together. White soft brushing on overlay // softlight and adjusting the opacity on the side of the face will bring out the focal more since it will enhance the lighting that is already there. Very nice one overall. (:

LordRaven's App to the CnC team :D
First of all would like to say, It is awsome you guys followed through with this. Very good idea. :D Good luck with it.
Application Form
1) Why do you like giving CnC? I like to give CnC for many reasons. First of all, I want to see everyone improve and if I can help people do that. I will be glad. If everyone is improving they will strive to get into duels, competitions etc. Thus making every thing more competitive, and fun.
2) Why would you be a valuable member of the CnC team? I would be a valuable member to the CnC team, because I will soon be going through Graphic Design school. So I will be able to give people very advanced help, as I will be able to bring home new skills taught from pros. I also love to work with graphics so much, and I think I can bring that through in my CnC. I of the most important. I am very very active, and consider myself the most active person on the forums. I have signaturebar.com open for over 16 hours a day, And will definatley be able to give cnc on every single post, and with out a long wait. :D Love this site. Had to edit this in, I also use gimp. So it would be nice to have some variation between the team. IMO.
3) How long have you been making graphics for? Well, going through highshool I always took classes that have to do with stuff like photo manips, animation, etc. As far as Signatures goes, About 3weeks. Althought that may not be long, I love it. I think I am a very very fast learner, as you can see from my first post on the forums to now. Lol.
4) How long have you been a member of Sigbar? About 3 weeks.
5) Whats your favourite type of CnC? Constructive, at the same time I like to be positive. If your negative people, mite take it personally and not come here for CnC. I like to start of with telling them good job, and telling somthing they did nicely. Then get into the serious CnC that will help them out.
Some CnC I have gave recently.

Example Graphics to CnC
1-
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/dominationspritecopy.png
Very nice signature, I personally love the text is is very well done. :o
To improve it, I would suggest taking away the cliping mask, it just dosnt work great here. I think it would look alot better without, because it is very distracting. Also, Another little distraction is the right, the brightness of the building. Maybe a couple blur clicks? I do love this sig tho very nice, the light around him is incredible. :D
2-
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/kobebryant.png
Kobe is the man, And this sig is nice. I like what you did to his arm, it brings flow right to this face(focal). The lighting isnt great on this one, it seems out of place, a little bright to. I would make it lighter and then make it put more focus on the focal by moving it. I would try adding a c4d on him, jsut a little one nerar the bottom of him to add some depth. The sig is very well done overall, and the text is great.
3-
http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m127/acerv551/smokincopy.png
This sig is nice, I like the splatter and c4ds. They give the peice some depth. I would move the text closer to him, it just keeps catching my eye while I try and keep attetion on the focal. To strengthen up the render, I would try giving him a soft glow, Because the light source is already there. Also the Background of the entier peice isnt the greatest.
Thanks alot guys. :D

1) Why do you like giving CnC?
I don't really. I just like to comment on people's posts who receive very little or no responses. I know how frustrating it is to post something and not get any feedback.
2) Why would you be a valuable member of the CnC team?
...Because the show off area is where I'm 99% active?
3) How long have you been making graphics for?
Uhh.. Not sure. Little less than a year?
4) How long have you been a member of Sigbar?
Dec '08 -points to side bar info-
5) Whats your favourite type of CnC? (eg extremely positive, constructive or negative- give examples)
Don't really have a favorite type, but the type I give most is constructive because there's always room for improvement. I always say what was done well, and what needs to be improved.
Example critiques:
1- The lighting is okay, but it could use improvement as there are some inconsistencies. The clip mask on the left is pretty distracting from the focal because there's too much of it. I think this is due to the fact it was offset too far from the left. Also, I think the text needs to be smaller and closer to the render, being in the center draws all the attention to it, or there needs to be less text (preferably none at all) due to the fact that sprites are small and don't have much to look at. The pen tooling behind the sprite, although done well, is distracting and doesn't match with the rest of the basic signature coloring.
2- The lighting and text is alright, but I'm not a fan of that black crown because it looks out of place. Perhaps if it was a different color it'd be better. The background is pretty plain, and nothing is eye catching. The render is blended pretty poorly, and there needs to be more interaction and depth with it and the rest of the signature.
3- The lighting is done nicely, and the text is nice. The text could be a bit closer because of that black bar that sits behind it making it easier to read. The blue c4d has some nice effect that compliments the signature, but it doesn't seem to match the coloring and because of that, looks out of place. It'd look better if this signature was black and white or the c4d hue was adjusted to fit the colors more.
