Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I have fiddled around but can't seem to get this to work.

I have a black image on a transparent background and I want to change the black to a different colour. I am using Photoshop CS5.

I right click on the Brush Tool and select the Colour Replacement Tool.

I then select a new foreground colour but when I click on the picture nothing happens!

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

Is there anyone here to offer me assistance?

I discovered that I can replace colours on a normal picture. I am trying to replace the colour of a black image on a transparent background. The image is just black and I want to change it to a different colour.

When I tested the colour replacement on a normal photograph picture I noticed the replaced colour looked slightly diluted as if it lacked opacity. It appeared to be more blended with the colour I wanted to replace as opposed to using the colour I selected. Does anyone know why this might be?

IMO you have to choose the Paint Bucket Tool...

Thanks Shadow but I solved the problem using Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options > Color Overlay.

Sorry but I did try to clearly convey what I wanted with as much detail as possible.

I am trying to replace the colour of a black image on a transparent background. The image is just black and I want to change it to a different colour.

I appreciate it can sometimes be difficult to interpret these correctly but thanks for the help. :)
