Devil May Cry 4: Dante vs. Nero

who's better to play as: Dante or Nero?

Nero is the newcomer with a visible Devil Arm in which he can do the awesome Buster technique. he also can use the arm to... grapple?... the enemy using the Snatch technique.
Weapons: Red Queen - Sword
Blue Rose - Gun
Devil Bringer - Devil Arm

Dante, on the other hand, is the legendary Devil Hunter shown in the past three DMC games. he has four different styles of fighting (Trickster, Gun Slinger, Master Swordsman, and something else..) which he can pull off each kind.
Weapons: Rebellion - Sword
Ebony & Ivory - Dual-guns
A-Coyote - SHOTGUN!
Devil Trigger - Devil Arm

i want to know: who is better to play as? i like Nero because he's easier to fight with, but Dante's clearly stronger.

dante is the original and therefore penultimate a** kicking demon killing character in the DMC series! Nero is cool too though, but Dante one of the sons of Sparda himself, lol...

id choose dante becuz of his wide range of abilities but nero is equall too =)
and its Sparda not Sparta :p

has any one here played through dante must die mode? apparently not. nero every time. he is so easy to clear in dmc 4. dante struggles the hole way. the only time dante is better is in the cutscenes. Id argue with that too, actually. put the devil may cry one dante into this game and I would reconsider but until then nero every time.

nero is cool, but dante is awesome! imo

the fact that you can now switch styles on the fly is just pure joy :D

true dante can switch between styles but they have been altered since dmc3, and not in a good way. hech the old trickster and royal guard skills have been downgraded. dante's stinger in devil triger eats though the gadge at a alarming rate. the sting I used to get around on the battlefield in the other game during battle with weapon master. the inability to use all skill at full strength immediatly, such as several of the pandora's box moves is quite annoying. the gage is nice when loading for the attack in royal guard but to have the invincable move now related to the bar is annoying. the only thing that has remained somewhat similar is swordmaster. why can dante not have a ability to fill up the gadges instantly like nero does his sword? :x
