Terrafugia (pronounced Terra-FOO-gee-ah) has completed the first successful test of its flying car. The company's Transition Roadable Aircraft Proof of Concept is a two-seat aircraft that can take off and land at local airports as well as drive on regular roads. Converting between the two modes takes all of 30 seconds.

The company said that the flying car (sorry, but the official name is a mouthful) can travel at speeds up to 115 mph for 450 miles in the air, drive at highway speeds on the ground, and fold up to fit in a standard garage with a parked width of 81 inches and a height of 80 inches.

Ooooh Ive heard about this. The testing was done sometime in april, right? April last year lol. This idea is really awesome though, hopefully it frees up some of the freeways and highways here, which are totally packed now-a-days even during non-rushhour times. I hear that they will cost ~400k thats like a the price of a house, so its gonna be awhile before we see them flying around everywhere. Anyway, totally cool!!

I thought cars already existed that could have wings attached to them and used to take off at airports.
