GFX Worm Challenge

GFX WORM CHALLENGE

This is less of a Challenge and more of a forum group project. I'll explain how they work.

Rules:

1. Each submission must be 600x450.
2. All entries must be of high quality.
3. You will have a maximum time length of one week to complete your entry. After that, you lose your spot and will have to ask for another one. You may obviously take less as long as the quality remains high.
4. For the time being, I am willing to give 100 sigbar points for each quality entry submitted.
5. You must apply for a spot here in this thread. By apply, you just have to ask to be added to the list.
6. This challenge will go on as long as people are willing to make entries.
7. Your piece must blend in perfectly with the piece before yours.
8. All entries are freestyle as long as they meet all decency requirements as laid down by the staff.
9. Do not put your username on your entry. It will be listed below it.

Many sites consider GFX worms to be a representation of the skill of the entire site, thus the quality of all entries must be quite high. Let us put Sigbar's skill on display.

Yes, they go in order. You do not make yours until the person before you completes theirs. Also, you do not put your name on your image.

Sorry i dont exactly get it, so ferhago made that image, now the next person (akkari) takes that image and then doubles the size sideways and adds on to it? and can he add a new render etc?

My understanding is you add onto the mural by making a whole new portion (while blending with the previous portion) that you add your own style and flare to.

Pieces are to be made completely seperatly. Do not take the previous image(s) and then add yours to them. Make a completely seperate piece. You are not allowed to alter the entry of another.


In addition, you changed the size my entry and your entry. Specifications require each entry to be 600x450, not 515 by 390 as your entry and the alteration of my entry measures.

also i don't see how your supose to make it blend in "PERFECTLY" if you have to make them seperatly....

and the size is right just when i uploaded it got resized

What I usually do is import the previous persons piece after completing my own and then line it up to blend it in. I then delete that layer from the work. For the purpose of the worm and to make it easier for each submission to be created, they must be done as single units. I am responsible for lining them up. You just make sure it blends into the piece before yours.

You create your own seperate piece, but it has to blend in with mine. So you have to have the right side of your piece have black and white that lines up, or figure out some other way to blend it. But the piece you post is seperate.

Akkari, that is not the way we talk to other members on this forum. I know you've only been here a few weeks, but you should still know better. The main issue with your was that you resized my work and did not follow the size specifications, and you did not make a seperate work.

You are not the one running this challenge Akkari, do not tell other members what to do.

Storm's piece is quite close to mine, it will take me five minutes at the most to make it blend well, that is what I am suppossed to do. It is obvious that it won't blend perfectly when they are made seperate, so the person in charge is suppossed to do the fine tuning.

In the name of fairness, I can have storm fix it so that it blends better. But you really do not have any leg to stand on as the first response I have heard from you since you missed your deadline was this insulting message of yours. Yours didn't meet any of the specifications. That is you fault. Deal with it.

Im sorry if i offended anyone or if the above doesn't make any sense or is totally out of line and none of m business... but anyway ferahgo i don't think i could make it blend any better then now as long as i agree with what you do to my piece then i will let you blend it yourself.

Laedon. Have you ever tried to work with an image that is say...6000x450. That is why you have to make it in parts. Because after just ten entries, it will be that long. And if you look at my example, it is a perfectly easy thing to do. People should just try not to make something that is so obnoxiously hard to blend into...Storm.

i test blended into storms so it would be almost a seemless blend if u move it to the left a tad. hard part will be incorporating my right side.

Yeah ive worked with images that big, ive made tutorials, and mucked around with lps etc

I just think it would be easier for everyone to blend, etc to make 1 big 1...

The number of spots is not limited to the 15 in the first post. There are as many spots as people, and you can go twice if you want. And actually, Koala's was a bit big, 606x456. So I sized it down a tad in the site. Thanks for noticing that it was off, I'll fix it.

In the example, that forum has a lot of people new to GFX, so yes, they do not blend perfectly. But here, I do not think we should allow imperfections in it. I'll do my best to blend them together, but I know most of the people here are good enough to figure out how to make it blend themselves.

And yes, Koala, I intend to do that. I just waited to see whether anyone would do this.

Thanks Jeff. And I'll finish blending storm's piece this weekend as well. Damned college had me to busy this week. I lost 5 pounds in two days...that's what happens when you swim ten miles within a 24 hour time period. So I've been busy. Anyway, I'll get it done.

wow. i cant believe i havent seen this thread. gah i need to get on more... anyways ive actually done a few of these before, only with very different themes. anyway i could get in on this with you all?

and also. a way we use to always do it was to have them chained together by using a png file and having a transparent background to the right side so the other persons image would just be layed underneath our transparent transition. idk if you understand what im saying but have it layed out like

i know my example sucks but i hope you understand what im trying to get accross. anyway its just an idea and maybe it would be a little easier to do like that...

In the long run it will help you out if we take some of the previous right side or some colors and blend it in with the sig we are creating, like I did, I know there is one spot you will have to blend alittle bit better but, at least its not much!

Storm, a GFX worm requires differet type of styles then a signature. Like a large piece, simplicity is often better than a ton of effects.
