I have something to say.
Some of you may not like it, but it needs to be said and I'm going to say it.
Nobody and I mean NOBODY is better than anybody else. For any reason.
There is no graphics site that is better.
There is no style that is better.
There is no ranking that is better.
That been said, might I add that NOBODY is worse than anybody else.
There is no bad graphics site.
There is no bad style.
And there is no bad ranking.
Do a favor for me and take a look around you. What do you see? Perhaps you have a laptop sitting in front of you, others have maybe a projector monitor, or and LCD screen. There are probably speakers somewhere, and I know that each and everyone of us has a keyboard, and a mouse, or a touch pad. Look further, are you in your bedroom? There should be some walls surrounding you...or maybe you're outside in a living room, or a study, or even further outside in a garden or on the front porch.
Either way, outside or inside, take a look at the sky. See some clouds? Maybe a clear sky? Maybe its raining, or snowing, or tsunaming (if so, take cover)....but think about this for a second. We are all on this planet Earth flung out in the middle of the universe. Now take a look at your hand, and then up your arm...now look in a mirror. See that person staring back at you? Thats you, a human being living on this earth. And guess what? Thats me too. And everybody else in this world. We're all human beings stranded on this earth in the middle of the universe.
But instead of recognizing this cold hard fact that we all have the same basic roots we decide to fill ourselves up with selfishness and foolishness. We try and rank ourselves better than everyone else. We try to class people, we split ourselves up and everyone tries to be the best.
I have news for each and every one of you. You're no better of a person than a newborn child. In fact, if you use some imagination that newborn child is in a sense actually better than you in that s/he can be molded into perhaps a purer human who doesn't care is h/see is better, or is someone else "sucks" worse than somebody else. We, on the other hand are already made; set in our ways and future generations are just going to replace us and take over those same ways. Its a shame.
I guess what I'm trying to say is; realise that who you are is no different than who I am. We all try hard at things, and yes it is true some of us have an easier time with it than others, but that doesn't make us the best, now does it? We all started doing what we do because we enjoyed it. Has it become truth that we have forgotten why we do this in the first place? So far that its now no longer friendly competition but a huge race to be the best. Its not fun any more, its not about having a good time anymore. AND IT SHOULD BE.
Pay attention to my words and understand what I'm saying. Art is a beautiful way for humans to express themselves. And it hurts us, all of us, when our expressions of ourselves are put down and ripped to shreds because you don't meet up with somebody else's standards.
THIS IS NOT WHAT ART IS ABOUT.
I don't care who you are or where you come from but I know that if you truly love art you do not make it for money, or for praise, or for serious brags. Artists make their art because they find it a fun way to get out their feelings and to show who they are on the inside by putting it on a canvass on the outside. And if you are in it for any other reason than that then I suggest you seriously rethink why exactly you started doing what you do.
Yes friendly competition is okay, yes duels are exciting and fun and yes making art for other people is great, and ever better when they love it. But there is a fine line between having a hobby and starting a war.
We all try our best, and like I said before some have easier times with it than others, and this is where helping comes in. Have you ever wanted to say something but couldn't get your brain to completely iron out exactly what you wanted to say? Or knew a word that was on the tip of your tongue but couldn't remember it? So you ask a good friend for help and in no time you both can fix that thought? Or find that word? That is the same basic principle here. We are all simple humans helping each other in getting our thoughts and feelings onto our own little canvas.
This is all we are.
This is all we should be.
But it is not how we all act.
Thanks for you time.
