Does anyone here know of, participate, or enjoy MLG? I love the competitive nature of what it is and what it is becoming. Although MLG as a community has had its ups and downs over the years, it has progressed into something that is bigger than most people would have dreamed. Discuss anything MLG and competitive here.

Whadda ya mean "It's alright", haha. Jk, I love MLG, participate in it quite a bit. The competitiveness is what really drives me and causes me to really get the thrill from it.

MLG is stupid. I f***ed over Playstation and GB. GB was made by SocomBattles.com and then turned into GB. GB/MLG has done nothing for Playstation and needs to either get out of 360 or be apart of Playstation. GB needs to do something.

I assume they started using the 360 because it was out b4 ps3 and it had plenty of games that they could use to set up teams with...

only thing I don't like about GB/MLG is the forum, its got way to many flamers and people who are arrogant, trash talking jerks, who can't even spell words correctly half the time :|

I know about MLG but the forums there tend to only listen to the people with alot more reputation and literally ignore any new members there.

Having a valid opinion that has merit to it's topic and value in your words will build you a great reputation. The forums are more tolerant than they have been in times past IMO. They are continuing to grow as well. Stick around and participate ;)

I totally agree with infared gb was the best site out there and now they merged with MLG and everything went down hill. Yeah there are a lot of flamers on the gb forums cause kids dont have anything better to do with their time i guess. I hope that SOCOM: CONFRONTATION goes MLG that would totally bring PS3 to the next level. :D

yea when i started gb i thought i was the best there was and at the begginin i did me and my dubs partner and my quads i made didnt lose for a little until we faced oLd sKooL with scraped da-illest i think chik3n warred or someone else and we got 6-0 6-0ed and then we learned it all and started to do better and i grew out of that stage of **** talking to everyone now i just ignore dumb kids and in some cases adults

ok. allow me to inform you on hwo MLG became, MLG.

it all started with the first installment of socom. polira (head admin of gamebattles.com/host of MLG) created a website called socombattles.com this website was an instant hit and had the most fierce competition for the game. im talking about something like hundreds of clan wars a night, thousands of clans, and literally hundreds of people browsing the forums and ladders at any given time.

later that year he decided to transform the site into, gamebattles.com. it's still there today and it has the most fierce gamers for all games. soon after creating it, MLG was formed and has joined forces with gb.com.


i love gb.com for the ladders. the forums are filled with little kids who all have their opinions on everything, and no matter what you say you are wrong and they are right. all in all it's a great place to go game and kill but i woudlnt stick to the forunms that much. too much spam and kids freaking out over nothing

Yup I totally agree with SolidSnack, it has the best competition there is out there and I strongly encourage anyone that wants to bring a clan or join an existing clan for good competitive fun to go to gamebattles.com and join up it dont matter what game they will most likely have it if it is team based. They have a couple that arent, remeber this is for game consoles so I dont believe there is computer games on there.

But the forums here are like 1000000x better, people dont sit there flaming eachother and talking smack to eachother all day. Over at gb it is good for ladders the forums are full of smack talking ****y, full of them selves, punks. So stick to these forums but play in the ladders, trust me you wont regret it. It is thebest

Well, I have friends and have played against people of the MLG group.
Most of these people are sick.
At whatever game they play.
But over the months, more and more kids have been faking MLG names and MLG teams.
And its beginning to bother me.
So my question is how can you tell if someone is actually MLG or just punks?
