Making a background transparent.

Hello, I have a very nice image with lots of awkward spots that I need to make transparent, the blackground is all black and I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of it all without using the magnetic lasso tool?

hide the background layer and make sure to save it as .png :)

you can also change the settings when you make a new doc to have a transparent background :)
