There isn't much you did wrong, it looks good, tho the text needs either to be a different color, or needs some blending. The cross scanlines are good, but one way give less imposition. Other than that the mroe you make the mroe you hone yourself :)

That's a great user bar, but the text needs blending as it looks a little pixelated around the edges. Otherwise I really like your picture selection.
