Hey guys, I have a problem here. To make it short and simple, I have to make this poster for this other forum, it's size is 612x792

Now I made the poster and everything, but after seeing it's final result, I'm not that happy.

you see.. this is the image:
http://iroh.org/screencaps/ep48/ep48-2.png

Now I totally stretched this image to that size because I am using that image as a background after all, and OF COURSE with such a size, the moon became an egg shape.

Now I have 2 questions:

1) Is there a way to make it big and stretchy as that background WITHOUT it being oval shaped?

and 2) If I can't stretch it, maybe there's a way to suck up it's color around it to create a twin image of it, making it seem larger without the moon getting bigger.

Can I do this? If so, thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

oh and I use gimp by the way...

:D

Well, you can always hold down SHIFT when re-sizing to keep all the proportions the same. It is possible to make the blue outer glow on the moon larger, but that would just mean you make the origional canvas larger, place the moon in it and make the glow larger, if you get what I mean lol.

Well, I don't get the cutting the glow part thing. I tried. I cut our the moon but when I make the glow part bigger, there's a big hole in it.

It's okay, thanks for trying anyway.

Ok, I tried replicating the glow and moon in the sizes you wanted. You have permission to add text or whatever if you like it/want to use it.

Loki, I had to render the moon and add 3 outer glows on diff settings lol. Took some time.

blur a white transparency with gaussian. you can add a color filter to that. then resize it with the resize tool try multiple layers of diffent blur styles.
