Yup GIMP is good and free but PS is better, i used to do all this on GIMP but i got the ps trial.

i dont think u can run gimp on mac
so u might have to go with ps or someother software

Download the photoshop free trial. Or you could always pay the £400+ for the full software, unless your a student (like me) then you can get it for <£150. :P
