View Full Version : Newbie needs help x_x'

hey guys, im new and wanna learn how to make sig. with Gimp, I was reading this (http://www.signaturebar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2992) tut., but i stucked at the part where i have to cut the render out.. i followed the steps and tried a few times, still not working, can some1 help please =[. I posted there and no1 replyed =x.

Ok well first off dont use the path tool, the lasso looking tool located on the main toolbox is much easier to use.

First off click the selection tool on the maintoolbar (it looks like a lasso) then outline the render with the selection tool and close it off

Once you finished that then it should look like a bunch of marching ants were the selection line used to be. Well if u dont understand then nvm. Then press Ctrl+I (or select->invert) ONLY ONE TIME! then press the delete button and then press Ctrl+Shift+A make the selection line go away and there you have it :)

The Lasso seems easier like Dark said xD but.. same thing happened x_x' after i outlined the render and close it up, i pressed Ctrl + i, press delete button (if its the one on my keyboard?) then press ctrl+shift+A, everything turned back to normal.. turned back to the start again x_x'.. is something wrong with my Gimp... =[?

I wanted to try out Jako's tut. but its hard to read =p

did u do alpha to selection? nd also you dont have to do ctrl shift a

huh.. Alpha to selection...? no.? is that from noobies tut.?? i was following what Dark said, and i already tried noobie's tut. =x

press ctrl to bring up the layer menu then right click the pic in the menu and put alpha to selection after that cut it out using darks or noobies tut then ctrl shift a whicch is same thing as looking at the top and clicking select none
