Noooooooo, my PS3 broke  , this is the end of my life. (joke :P )
I rang the Sony careline and they said it was because I kept turning it off at the sockets. If you own a PS3 or anything else - always turn it off properly!

Unless you own an Xbox, which will break on its own.

Thats what Ill have to do. Its incredible that we get a 60GB replacement though. I thought they stopped making them..

Btw, theres soon gonna be an 80GB model. However it ony has the same features as the 40GB model. (only 2 usb slots/bad backward compatibility etc)

Well, the 60gb they have stopped making and you get a second hand PS3, which has been sent back to Sony for repaires or a refund...they fix it and send them out again for people who have a 60gb and it broke...

The red ring of death only occurs to people who are dumb and don't actually read their owners manual. In the manual it clearly states that the less you handle your Xbox, the less the chances of it breaking. Handling it meaning touching it in anyway. Moving it, pressing the power button when your supposed to use the controller, opening the CD-Drive. Things of that nature. I know this is retarded and it's not supposed to happen, but hey thats how things go. I've had my Xbox for a good 8 or so months now and I have had 0 problems with it. It stays in one place, I never power it on from the Xbox itself and the only time I touch the CD-Drive is when I open it. And hence, No problems. For Xbox users, try not touching your Xbox unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. And you can stop worrying about that silly red ring.
