What program have you used...i can only pressume that you havent used layers to create the background, which is why it doesnt blend too well and i cant quite make out what the render is supposed to be(main image)
But for a very first try, its not too bad. I think the text is cool, and i like the way its slanted...let us know what program youre using and ill see if i can find you a beginers tut thats easy to follow.
But thanks for posting it up, its quite nerve racking posting your 1st attempt, but i think you did well.:D

on nice brushes?
And noobie what do you mean by the render as being the main image?

How to install the brushes....

extract the files to....documents and settings....your username.....gimp 2.2....brushes

I just meant that the main image on it wasnt very cler, i couldnt make out what it was supposed to be, i hope the tut helps

yeah, by using layers, you can blend the render into the whole sig, giving it a better effect
and yeah, use those recommended tuts, they're good! :D

its really nice for 1st try
to download brushes just go to deviant art and type what kind of brush your lookin for, for example, tech brushes, grunge brushes etc, if u want only gimp brushes in result then include Gimp at the end
for tutorials, visit gimptalk.com, its excellent community of gimp user

justa tip: if ur thinkin abt switchin to Photoshop then do it now b4 u get into using gimp more, coz later on it will be much harder, dont get me wrong, theres nothin wrong with gimp, its an amazing program, but u hve more tutorials, brushes and resources available for photoshop than gimp, and thats the reason i switched after using gimp for abt 1 nd a half month, its been like a week since i am using PS, and i am still havin trouble findin how to do all those things that i learnd to do with GIMP :roll:

n e ways its pretty nice for 1st sig, just keep goin , read some tuts and u will b fine
