PS3 vs. Wii vs. Xbox 360

I don’t know if this is in the right section but I figure it it’s in with games. I have a ps3 and my friends have 360s and Wiis. I think that the ps3 is superior in hardware and games.
What do you think?

Wii gmv ... I have a PS3 which I never play LOL ... so went and bought a Wii, which I never stop playing.

The whole concept of the controller and the way to play games on the Wii makes it by far the best contender.

I got a Wii for my birthday last year, my brother got a 360 for christmas and my friend got a PS3 for christmas. I've played on all three load's but the Wii is the most fun imo. It's totally different. I got Pirate's of the Carribean for Wii for Easter(never got an easter present before :) ) and it's amazing. I would reccomend buying it.

Alright, PS3 is a huge piece of sh!t, Xbox is good but you need to pay extra for online, and i find no problem with Wii, other than the sensor bar, i had a few problems but it's all good now. :)

I personally enjoy my ps3 very much, I have had no hardware problems, unlike all my friends who own a 360....

I love the wii also, but I feel they could have put a little more into the system as far as graphics go, its basically a N64 with a light gun and motion sensor..

and nobody realizes that playstation has had the eye toy forever!!!

i chose 360 because it's the only next-gen console i own. played Wii a little, and i enjoyed it a lot, though the graphics don't come close to Xbox's and PS3 is just way too expensive...

I voted Wii. I have a Wii and alot of games for it too, there are so many good ones, you've got fire emblem radiant dawn, zelda twilight princess, super mario galaxy, smash bros brawl, mario party 8, resident evil, metroid, warioware, and wii sports is classic of course. I like the way the controller works which a few people have criticized in here, but yeah it can be annoying sometimes, which is why its nice that some games can be played with the gamecube controller. i love the wii though cause you get a different feel to it. its really great when you have a party or something, its alot of fun and anyone can easily get used to it, since its not all controller coordinated. and yeah, the gfx arent amazing. not nearly as good as 360 or ps3. but thats okay. sometimes graphics are not what makes a game the best. look at ffvii, sonic or super mario bros! some of the best selling games. anyways thats just my opinion :]

360 is second for me because there are so many awesome games for the 360, although i wish i did, i dont own one. lost oddyssey, dead rising, gears of war, theyre all awesome. most of the people i know have a 360 and i love it.

PS3 gets third because well, ive never played one! dont know anyone who has one sadly, but it looks great.

I would have to say xbox 360 is my favorite console, because of the great games, and the graphics and online play. Although I don't like having to pay for most of my DLC, I mean it costs to just play online, isn't that enough? Doesn't matter really, I still love it, mostly because I had the original xbox, and I loved that too.

Second for me is the wii, I haven't actually got many games for it, but I will be getting super smash bros brawl for it when it's released, and hopefully will be getting mario kart at some point. Online play is free, which is a good thing.

PS3 would have to be 3rd for me. My mate has a PS3, and says it's great and sometimes it's hard to disagree, because of some of the games. Also, it has free online play apparently, and the DLC is also free, according to my mate. The only thing is, it is just copying the 360 in my opinion. As it has the same system as the 360, with the little menu button in the middle of the controller, and most of it's games were originally on 360. I haven't got much against it, but it's my least favorite console.

originally, it was. it was going to be an almost exact copy off of the 360 controller but it had the Sony and PS3 logos on it. but then Microsoft sued Sony to change it, so they just made it a little revamped version of the PS2 controller.

seeming how the 360 has a 33% failure rate, i think it is a tie between the PS3 and wii. if you have wireless internet, the xbox 360 cost more than the ps3 because it is 100 fricking dollars to buy the wireless adapter (my computer adapter was 30) making the 360 pro package $450 compared to the 40 gig ps3 $400 and you get 20 more gigs with the ps3. all of my friend have had to send their xbox in one or twice to get it repaired cuz microsoft sux. the ps3 is set up way better than both consoles but the Wii is cheap, games are cheaper, and the remote make the games funner some how. the only downfall to the wii is it doesnt support big titles, im sure im not the only one who wanted to see call of duty 4 for the wii.

Are you trying to say that the PS3 is not worth $600? Because the technology that is built into it is worth more than twice that. Did you know sony makes a loss on every PS3 they sell. Most blue ray players alone are more expensive than the PS3. I think you're just annoyed because Xbox's HD DVD has failed miserably. The Xbox is a console and almost nothing else. PS3 is almost a next next gen console, and you will see why in a couple of years time.

Alright, PS3 got my vote, even though I don't own one, I own the 360 and the Wii. Reason being is that the Wii, I was disappointed in the involvement with the Wii mote. I thought I would be more in touch with the game, I thought that bowling would be more realistic, I thought golf would be (I was really disappointed with Zelda, because I thought I would finally be able to do those crazy sword slices and it would do exactly what I said...) but I was disappointed...

The 360 is great except for the fact that I got the 3 rings of death. That ticked me off especially since I had just gotten Rock Band, plugged it in and it died... Not to mention that it occasionally freezes up on me at only the most important parts of games, or when I haven't saved for a while... Other than that, the graphics are great and it's got Halo, which is a lot of fun.

I've only heard of one problem with the PS3 and that's the whole confusion of the whole backwards compatibility issue, and with some PS3 games the console likes to say that there is a memory issue and cannot play the game. But other than that I've heard it's a reliable console.

The 60gb model has almos full backward compatibility but I'm not sure about the 40gb one. Also, I've never heard of that memory issue problem. And hopefuly, I never will :? Overall it is the most reliable council. (If you dont count the amount of injuries and broken televisions sets caused by the Wii :D)

I prefer the PS3 over the other system only because of the following reason(s):

Wii, I have to admit it has an innovative control scheme, but that means squat when 90% of the games do not utilize it. The games that are on the system are great for parties (kart, brawl, raving rabbits, etc.). I do wish Nintendo kept their quality control. With so many third party companies developing some whacked games, its hard to see Wii as a real contender (other than the initial price tag).

360, Microsoft just attempts to milk money out of the userbase. Yea pay for gold service for their online play, but where is that money really going? People who hosts games use their bandwidth, so what exactly is Microsoft doing? Sometimes it still is a pain to connect to games but at least it is better than it was a few months ago. Tech support pretty much sucks unless you RROD the system. Then you are just sent a refurbished unit. The pros for the system, the games drop in price so fast. Burnout Paradise is 19.99 on gamefly at the moment. Easy to develop for so most games come out early or are exclusive to the system.

PS3, cheapest blu-ray player and can play video games. The major problem about this system is the failed promises made by Sony. How many times has Home been delayed? That and the lack of games due to developers not being able to learn the programming language as fast. The online database is pretty much empty unless there are clans or it is a popular game.

Overall, I prefer the systems PS3 > 360 > Wii.

Yeh version 2.40 will have in game XMB :) and they are working on some kind of trophy system similar to Xboxs achievements. But for now - Xbox live still owns.

halo is a exciting fast paced shooter

dcommand and conquer 3 is an RTS. where you move our units aound and order them in battle, you dont actually shoot anything, your units do.

and still wanna play it in the morning
there so boring all you do is click this that order around a bunch of units

those are fun *** games, you actually have to THINK!!! oh my god, thinking in video games!!! thats why it is such a break from the dumb fast paced FPS where youd ont even have to think, just run around and shoot. and you are missing out on some good *** games like World in Conflict, command and conquer 3, supreme commander. and command and conquer red alert 3 is coming out in october. RTS is the best genre out there because it actually requires you to be smart.

yes you have to think and those games are really cool i used to love them , but since i got into the online gaming i just seem to want to play graw then graw2 then cod , sorry didnt find halo interesting enough, another game i used to love on the pc was rise of nations , and so a few weeks go civilation revoulation came out and seemed preety similar to rise of nations but to be honest i played one war and went back online with my m8's.
People have different opinions on what makes a good game , for some its playing with there m8s just running arouns and shooting, but in saying that no matter what game you play there is always tactics involved, in my own opinion i think the rts games were better when there wasnt online gaming.

remember everone is not the same and just because ppl dont agree with your choice doesnt make them wrong.

they get old after while
it's the same thing over and over again
you build you create u upgrade then you fight
over and over and over
the only fun point in these games is when your army's fight
and there isn't enough fighting for me
at least in halo while your running around shooting the excitement is almost always there
every time is different
your always on the edge of your seat searching for the kill
fast paced FPS seem so much more fun then The slower paced RTS imo

if you have played the earlier gr series, you'll find that they were far more tactical, seige was brillant with fpv , seige on graw 2 , 3rd personing behind a rock doesnt take much skill.

ohhhhhh, you have it for console. graw 2 for PC is totally different. its first person and is the biggest tactical shooter out. ive player ghost recon 2 and graw 2 is far more tactical.

you need a good *** PC to run it though. i have a nvidia 8400 and a gig and a half of ram and it still laggs alot. it is the best graphiced game there is to date. it is really gun but sometimes toe realism gets in the way of the gameplay. the recoil for guns is like no other in any game. and online is just dominated by the m99, thats why i dont play online.

the thing that turned me away from online gaming for the pc is the amount of people that can hack a pc game, not that there arent glitches for console games but it seems that in the pc online world there are more cheats.

am i way off the mark , it has been a long time since i played online gaming on the pc

dewpends on what game you play. most of the newer games use programs like punkbuster to catch hackers. if a hacker trys to join the server punkbuster detects it and banns him off of the game. it is possible to create a hack some anti cheat programs cant detect but those are very few. the only games that have hacker problems are usually free download games, not one that you buy in stores.

not even close. everything is better about the PS3, it is only $50 more and has 80 gigs! and it comes with a wireless adapter, there is $100 that you dont havew to spen but you do no the 360. the PS3 has a little (and i mean little) better graphics on HD TVs.

and the controllers, the xbox controller sucks, the left anolog stick is moved up, making it more uncomfortable than the PS3 wich has both anolog sticks even. plus the PS3 has way better features, the menue screen is set up SO much better.

i dissagree , i think the 360 controller is the most comfortable to use, for online game play , the xbox is head and shoulders above the ps3.
However i do think that the games for the ps3 will greatly improve as will the online gaming and i am looking forward to that.

i'm on my 5 th xbox and every time it breaks(usually with the firs year) i bring it back to the store where i bought it and receive a brand new one , with new controller and mic, i dont know why ppl have to send theres off to be repaired , maybe the laws are different in my country.but either way i receive a brand new xbox plus joypad plus mic every few months for no cost . long may it continue.
