First off, about every admin doubles up on awards, some even got three. Now i know they wouldn't be admins if they didn't do this, but seriously, couldn't you vary it? Just a little?

Also. Smartest members? I have nothing against Etha, Loki or wolf. Why is there even a smartness award?

As for funniest member. I had to think twice about who gromit was, and diesel, to be honest, i'm not being rude (Well, i probably am, but you've asked me to speak my problems, and this is part of my problem). How can you be funny here? Is saying that people should have "Wants to be Diesel" or any other variation of that in their names funny? I'm not sure! But im not going to launch into a debate about how funny people are HERE, because that would be unfunny.

I just don't think that a few people have been giving their due here.

They are just awards for recognition in particular areas doesn't mean the ones that didnt get a award aren't noticed for what they do here at Sigbar. We all are apart of this great community because of one another, we all make this community what it is inlcuding you Hone!

I just think that in my personal opinion that some of the awards given weren't given to the right people(barely, though). Just because the staff have been here along time dosn't mean they know everyone. None of the mods here would know a tad about me. You know who does? Maddog does. Zanbatsu-kun does. You know why? Because they actually showed interest in me, they came to me and opened me up. Whereas diesel, you decided to block me on msn for whatever reason. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but seeing as i didn't do anything, it does. The only mod i ever talk to is Etha and its for about 10 minutes every two days or something. I feel that i am neglected. I may know why, and i'd say i don't care, but it does hurt. Im not sure if people are in the same boat as me, but i don't really give two hoots, i have never talked for anyone in my life, not going to start now.

What im TRYING to get at here, is that it could have been a tad more varied and more.. involving, if all of signaturebar.com voted. These are the SignatureBar awards, after all.

I don't have a problem with most of these awards, though. I just think that from my own experience the moderators are on their own little island and the rest of us are on our crowded island, and some people get to sail across to the docks of your little island for a while. (Im so metaphorical, don't you think?)

Thats exactly right loki, we took into account our experiences from posts on the forums, no personal messages on msn or anything like that. As mods we are required to look at nearlly every post to make sure its ok, and in doing so we see nearlly everything that goes on!!!!

And no i have not blocked you on msn, i have no reason to. I have only ever blocked 1 person on msn, and that was vintage, because he annoyed the hell out of me.

basically what im getting from your comment is that the staff are biased, and voted for each other cuz they work together... that is not it at all!

Obviously you think you got rooted by not getting an award, so please tell me whch award you think you deserved more then the person who won it? And dont try and say its not about you, ive had enough experience with this sort of thing to know what the real problem is.

Also, if you want to make yourself known better then you should post more about yourself, post in the other chatter and personal life forums. I barerly see you in there (I cant talk though... :P ). Also, maybe you should make some gifts - I havent seen many from you.... It seems as if you aren't doing much in order to make yourself better known and loved. You said: "I have never talked to anyone in my life, not going to start now" - which sums it up perfectly.

If all of the signaturebar members voted the results would be extremely different. Who in hell wants to go through every members entry thread? The average member definitely doesnt. The staff can be trusted to look carefully at all entries and give a fair verdict.

Its going to be biased. There is no way around that. You would have to completely alter the human mind in order to achieve a perfectly fair judge based voting system. Even without that the more people you have the more accurate it CAN be but each person still has an opinion that isn't completely neutral. Arguing that you want one that is perfect would be like demanding the ability to fly. It will just make you look foolish in the end.

Now, even though this was biased, it wasn't as nearly biased as you are making it out to be. The staff here are incredibly intelligent and well rounded. They can make a valid decision on their own without the help of a selfish member. I wouldn't pick any other people to decide the final outcome. These folks are qualified. You don't have any sort of basis to deny that because I have none. And even when I am absent I lurk. I see all as well, I don't have the eyes of an administrator or moderator but I can see when somebody is being cruel or unfair.

Just grow some balls and live with their decision man. I'd want more awards too, everyone would, and I'd be just as devastated if I didn't receive any. It is our nature to want more than we deserve. But you have to live through your own humiliation. Too much pride is a curse. I guess that is my ramble for awhile. Peace.

i kinda see where he's comeing from i mean some of the categories where unnecessary like Nicest Member Funniest Member Most Unique Member because the staff doesn't know the whole community personally, but i do understand that it would be near impossible for the staff to know the whole community personally and I've been on these forums for almost 2 months now(lol) and I've never got to know a member of the staff or vice versa but yet i still got an award because i focused on what i could offer and could win

Okay peeps, for the record just because it doesn't seem like a staff member doesn't know a majority of the other members....doesn't mean that it's true!!!!!

You'd be surprised to know that everyday when I come on I read almost every single post that has been updated since I last checked. I don't see how you can be any more thorough than that (not as if everyone has to in order to know members).

Anyways, what I'm getting at is these awards are for the FORUMS, not for the personal life of everyone apart of the forums.

And if you don't know, you can see right through a person when they post something, what they say, "how" they say it (or should I say..type...type. :roll: ) It doesn't take hours on the phone or messenger to learn what type of a person you would classify someone as. (ie annoying, special, smart, hilarious)

And just because YOU think you should have won something, doesn't mean that everyone else does. Because most likely, if you think you are funny, sexy, whatever...you probably AREN'T (minus Diesel of course haha :lol: )

Well, I figured everyone deserves to have their little spouts. And I have had mine. Yay! =D

yeah but not everyone has the same thinking as the staff so i this this was more of a dumb idea beacue the pepole who think they should've gotten the award got deprived of it & it made a negitive vibe in the comunity ... & most probebly hurt some ones feelings & such ... so you might have hurt a few pepole's feelings in the proses of giving awards ...
MY Question is Was it worth it ?
i really dont care much for what person on the internet thinks of me or my work thats why i am not being all winey about it ...
but some pepole do take it personally & what not ...
So I think this comptitions voting should either be public not upto staff or we should not do this compition anymore & just leave it at that ...

being a mod and Admin I look over this site 3-4 different times a day, and I am sure the other staff members do the same and we see how people are. Are they funny, whiney, attention Getters, or just an all around team player who strives to help others, I felt that anyone could have won these awards more so than some of the technical awards, even if they didnt do sigs etc. But We do watch how you all are and I feel we do know alot of you if not most of you, at least the full timers!

OK so what your saying is that next time you would like a bunch of people (no offence intended) that have a basic level of graphic skill to vote on your sigs as they are more qualified, and you would like people who have only been on the forum a few months and most liekly dont read EVERY post, to vote because they would know you more? Whereas the staff have a high quality of grappic skill and have been around longer then most if not all of you and read every single post posted on these forums??

You all make alot sense....

Next time, we will do it differently just to see what every1 thnks. We will people with less then 50 posts vote, as obivously from the way you guys are acting, youd trust them more then the staff!

i disagree if you wanted a certain award then work towards and if you don't get and your going to take it personally and be hurt by it i don't think you should really be on the internet(imo) i would rather have a committed staff vote then the community because friends vote for other friends and what not and not on what really matters like the staff would

Lets all please remember this was supposed to be a bit of fun and something different for the forum and its members.
Each and every one of you would have won an award if there were more categries, but we had to be realistic at the end of the day and only have the ones we did.
Youre all lovely and brill in your own way, whether it be at gfx or personality. Yous dont need a vote to tell you that.:)
