Hello.
I do mainly vector art. Here are just a few of them. (Click on the image to view full quality) Some of these have been sold to a t-shirt design company.

Haha nice pics again akhtar,,, but maybe if you make them images at least and not links then people can view them more easily :)

Xile: Are you too lazy to click on a couple of links?
thanks guys :)
If someone wants to see the picture, they can click the link, if not, dont click it.
The larger picture is better presented on deviantart, deviantart also holds my copyright status
I also like the pink and black combo, but i use a lot of pink in my work (must be a phase). Pink seems to be a colour which is not too "hot" or not too "cold"

Deviant art holds your copyright status? Come off it - only YOU hold the copyright status, and the only thing Deviant get out of it is STATS by people clicking your images.
I would like to see your images being hosted and displayed here, after all - your a member here, an advertiser/moderator, and if your not willing to post your work from another site - then what example is that giving to the members here?

No, you dont understand, spreadshirt holds to copyrights to most of those images, and i have permission to post it up only on deviantart for non profitable purposes, im not allowed to post the work up anywhere else or i will face copyright infringement.
(BTW, linking to other sites is only disallowed if there is competition between the sites, ie. another signature forum.)
I currently dont have a portfolio, but when i get one, i will post links too that instead. :)
Listen to my explaination before you follow onto assumptions.

Copyright law says that if you have created the image, you own the rights to the image unless otherwise sold to the customer, but overall copyright remains to you, you just SELL the use of that copyright to a set brand/company etc.
Linking to any other site is LEGAL - posting images on any other site is LEGAL especially if YOUR the creator, the legallity only comes into question if that image is then edited without your permission.
As there is neither indiciation in this matter, there does not seem a legal problem with you posting the images here. (especially if you have sold the use of hte images to `spreadshirt` then post them here with a copyright notice that all images are (C) to Spreadshirt) :D
Problem solved.

:?: :?:
i sold the images to spreadshirt
MrXile
08-17-2006, 05:17 PM
The legally - if you sold the images, they own the images, but you still own the copyright on them as their creator - you have the legal right to post them here.
Akhtar
08-18-2006, 03:20 PM
in the agreement it said otherwise :)
I no longer hold the copyrights of the images unless i get permission to use them on a portfolio etc...
MrXile
08-18-2006, 03:36 PM
Then you must have been paid a bucket load per image to lose the copyright too :D
(ie. over ?600 per image!)
Akhtar
08-18-2006, 08:25 PM
if your selling the image, then you sell the copyright with it, its then theres to do whatever they want. I'm happy with how much i got for it, as a hobbiest, its a huge bonus if i recieve money for my artwork.
Can you stop going off topic now? :)

Actually whilst we're on the topic of earning from art work? MrXile
Can you share with us some of your work that you have done and got paid good money for?
Also where is your portfolio site ? you never really showed us it :)

You will see most of my work in M8 Magazine :D
Why do you think I`ve not posted the main works I have been paid for? For exactly that reason, thats my WORK - the stuff I do on here, sigs, banners etc - are for fun, and can be shared freely.
As for portfolio - yes, I do have one, but that again is my work side of things, and that is completely seperate from what I do online for forums etc, and I keep the two very seperate for that reason. This is my fun time!

But just out of interest can you maybe show some of us or atleast me in the staff forums or something ,as i would really be interested to see what people and companies actually pay for?
You're the first artist I have actually met that actually makes his primary living from design... So im really quite fascinated..
M8 magazine is that online as well?

Takes photo`s of the magazine? Akhtar - no offence m8, but give me a break, I`m 31 - I dont take photos of what I get published lol.
TD - I`ll send you a PDF of two pages from a recent issue ok - over MSN next time on I`m (after downloads are done and dusted ok).

Give you a break? you seem too have enough time on your hands judging by the amount of time you spend on the forums. Its pretty standard, you take photos of the magazine, and put it in your portfolio...

Akhtar - you seem to be getting very personal, if you worked as a FULL time Digital Artist (FROM HOME) and your basis of your work was online orientated, then you, yourself would spend a lot of time online.
Dont assume to think just because I`m online, I dont have a life.
As for taking photo`s of magazines, yes, GIVE ME A BREAK - its a digital age (unless you had not realised) and all work is kept on file either as PSD or PDF format for posterity, which in turn - is much easier to incorporate into a website rather than a `photograph`.

btw, just to point somthing out. people usually take pohotographs of a bagazine in which they are featured to prove they have been featured in their portfolio.
Anyway, this thread has gone way off topic, anyone mind closing or deleting it. My intentions of starting a topic was to show my art work.

Don't worry akhtar, people are still free to comment on your art work, so I will keep the thread open ... Lets just forget the other topic.. :)

Thanks, i made them in photoshop. They are out of the ordinary but images like it are doing well in the advertising and t-shirt market.
Anyway, i used the pen tool in photoshop, and i used lots of pictures/clipart to help me create images.
I also use illustrator too help me achieve certain effects.

Yes I agree with Akhtar, Compton your smilies are scattered all over the place, although I dont mind the odd single smilie type comment every single comment of yours is mostly like this.
As akhtar says on most forums this is not considered good manners.
