SoTw Rules

- Competition runs from Mon-Fri GMT & Voting is from Sat-Sun GMT
- Your signature must match the following dimensions 450x150 Pixels
- Once you submit your sig you cannot change it in any form whatsoever
- Your entry must be a new piece of work (Cannot just submit an old sig)
- You cannot vote for your own piece of work
- Each week the competition organiser will select the actual theme
- Anyone can enter as long as you submit the entry fee (10 Sigbar points)
- Entry points must be sent to Tradedemon no later than Wednesday
- The Winner gets 80% of the points whilst Second place gets 20%
- The Winner will also get their work featured on the SignatureBar Home page
- The entrants signaturebar.com username must be on the sig.

yeh something interesting that ppl dont normally use for sigs! something with meaning. if you want more standard ones like that ok but i just thought it be more interesting where ppl actually have to think about what they gonna make!

Was a tough one...decided to go for something different to my normal sigs, not sure if ive pulled it off or not...i thought it looked a little plain, but any more detail to it and it looks way too much lol

Go to their user profile (click on their name) And you'll see where it says "donate" just click on that and it'll take you to where you want to go. Or, under their unsername and avatar by the sigbar points it says "donate" you can click on that too.

i dono if n e 1 here watches rurouni kenshin

the idea is that hez thinkin abt his past
and all these flash backs/memories of ppl he has killed (u can actually see lil faded images in the background ) bring him to an emotional state of regret

the real tiny/unreadable text is supposed to b tht way i just wanted to fill tht space without actually puttin some words there

the theme is regrets, your entry must show regrets in some way, but u cannot just write the theme on there which it looks like hubdehub has done :S

I'm confused too. Is the theme suppose to show something regretful or can characters be named regret and it count to?

I dont reckon ill make a sig for this comp, I just dont like the theme and i cant think of a picture/render that would look cool with it. :cry:

and this is why we should stick with themes like the ones gromit said. so there is no confusion. Diesel I thought you wanted the theme to be meaningful and make us think. then you put of one with a chick from a game anyway. hubs makes just as much sense as yours. he told us clank regrets going to the church, there could be a number of reasons why. its our own interpretation, like any good art. to me it seemed you copped out and went with something bland and unoriginal. let me ask you this; did you know of this regret character before you chose the theme? well whatever, to me his was clear, he clearly wrote "clank regrets" that was pretty clear to me, what wasn't clear was what he regretted doing, which is where the interpretation thing comes in. at least this is my opinion, sorry if i sound like a douche.

the theme is open for any interpretation, as long as it fits, and is clear to everyone else. eg the sig about regretting smoking is very clear about regret which is the interpretation of wishing u didnt do something. my sig shows a character named regret, shows regret the character as the interpretation.

if you want easy simple themes from weeks to come i will be happy to oblige, i jsut thoguht it be better to do something with a bit of meaning that people can think of and so there can be a variety of sigs entering!

I think that we should have a mix of everything to please everyone, maybe one week have something like this and maybe the next week to have something like games or music or so on....at least that way its varied and people will learn to put more thought into it too. It opens the mind a bit more to variety, but its also good to stick to simpler ones too, to have more choice on your ideas.
So yeah,. i personally think a mix of allsorts is good :D:D

one could argue that since the theme is regrets and not regret, that yours doesn't go with the theme.

do you see where i'm coming from? I'm just trying to say if you have a theme that is so open-ended it will get confusing.

regrets is a fine theme. I think we just needed some more info on what type of regrets. (do you get that?)

like noobie's choice. If she just would have said "the show Bleach" and not specified Ichigo. I could have made a sig with a random ghost on it and said "well there's ghosts in bleach!"

anyways, this started out as me defending hubs entry and i'm done now.

That was my point from the beginning, that it wasn't just to be against, but that it was going to be confusing, people use sigs to show what they like or dont like or to show something about them, like games, tv shows, cars, sport teams etc... i think this open themes are more like to create wallpapers or posters or other type of art thats more open to the mind.

Other think i agree on is that Diesel is going against his theme is he is using that sig to participate. It's not showing the emotion/feeling "regret" but just a char name.

Well at least thats what i think maybe im wrong. * shrug *

the theme is 'regret' which is not singled out as the emotion it can be anything as long as it clearlly shows regret in some way, whether it be the emotion or a character or somebody in the world.

i have participated in other forums SotW competitions and have seen comps run on much larger communities then ours. the themes are open for interpretation every week and the variety of entries is awesome. that is what i was trying to get. eg 1 sotw comp the theme was limit- some ppl entered sigs with "the sky is the limit", others entered with human limits eg world records, and 1 entered with the sig limitis for the comp. each entry showed limit in 1 way or another but was not cut down to 1 interpretation.

obviously this is not what you are wanting. you want me to be clear and precise with easy and simple themes which is what i am going to do. as you think my entry doesnt suit the theme then i will cut it.

I agree with all of you in some way or form.....
But I also agree that diesel is right in saying the theme is open to take it any way you like, wether it be about regreting something...not believing in regret.....and a band called regret or a character regretting something, or a character called regret, either way, the theme is there for people to use a one word theme to take it in whatever way they please to open the imagination to create awesome sigs. I think thats an ace idea.
At the end of the day, people can take the theme whichever way they like unless its a specific them like i did last week...eg...it had to have a pic of ichigo on it from bleach.
Lets just stick with this theme this week, and see how we go with it, next week diesel can always have something more simple...and maybe the week after have something similar to this but have a few more specific rules, like......regret (the feeling regret) or hatred (show hatred in the sig)...anyway, somewhere along those lines.

Im not saying all this to delete sigs or themes or to go against someone im not like that i havent had any problems with you, just want to get all straight and fair for everyone.

We are not a huge community yet, not that we dont want to be, and we are going to be, but we are growing and most of us still learning, even SOTW stuff.

You just cleared the theme and why u using that char as its named "regret" so that is that. Theres no need to be cutting sigs or anything, like i said everything its to be straight and fair with everyone. From the the newbie to the pro.
