in this other forum they this button called report spam i think.I forgot what it was.Anyway if you clicked that you could send a spam report to the Moderators/Administrators.And they would check it out.So my suggestion is why not do a thread where your supposed to report where spam is.Seeing that this is a kid friendly site,wouldn't it be better if people who saw the spam could report it straight away instead of a Moderator/Administrator coming on and going through every section.When they can just check one Section and clear out the spam.Sure it can be argued that it would be only a matter of minutes before a Moderator/Administrator finds a spam topic.But won't every minute matter if some kid clicked on one of the links ,not knowing it might be a virus,or some other type of crap?

Hmm I am not absolutely sure what do you mean by that but from the things i read u r saying that u need a spam button to report Spam threads as (answering in other ppl threads with something irrelevant as "hi", putting an Emoticon only as an answer or something like that) or you are talkin about Spam topics as (links to virus infected sites,preversion sites,and other stuff like that)

If it is about the 1st type of spamming i mentioned i believe that button could be abused. Making some high-ranked ppl suffer from kids who are just trying to abuse the fuction and get them banned for nothing. Eventho im new i've looked around the forums and i believe the MODs are doing their job pretty good.

or just when u type anything repetitively that has absolutely no point to it. like if you were to just quote the person in front of you in every post for no reason, that is spam. all sorts of stuff like that is spam. now viruses are a completely different thing. a virus is a file that edits computer software in a bad way and makes your computer not work properly. for instance, one virus that i know of just makes hundreds of pop-ups just appear right when its downloaded and doesnt stop until your computer is overloaded and freezes. so spam really isnt ever anything bad, its just annoying.

This is simple:

Responsable members, when seeing spam, should not say anything in the thread or to the person suspected of spamming, but should rather PM an active moderator or admin about his/her concerns about a member, complete with a link.

For now, anyways. When we make the switch to VB (which is soon) there will be a "report" button that should be used.

As for worrying about abuse and whatnot, please leave that up to the staff. I can assure you we have no concerns of abuse of reporting spam or spammers other than the acknowldgement that it's annoying.
