how do you change the text of a signature without affecting the signature itself

um... do you have the psd file?

are you doing this to one of your sigs? If not then that would be considered ripping...

if you have the psd file (psd is photoshop format, not sure what gimp's is) then it is simple, just go to the text layer and change it :)
