It's been slightly over a week that I've been here. I came knowing absolutely nothing about the graphics world. Video games had gotten boring, and you can't live your whole life listening to music non-stop. I needed an alternative. Since i was little, i had always enjoyed art, whether it was visual arts, music, photography, anything. I always understood an artist when he would explain his work, but i never understood how. I had started playing piano when i was 12, about 3 years ago. I flew threw the levels. Now i hardly ever practice, yet still manage to learn full songs in a few 45 minute lessons. I suppose i have some sort of gift to music. However, my social life isn't exactly as strong. I would just talk with people over the internet, and basically only hang out with my closest friends. Apart from those friends and my family, people over the internet were the only other people i talked to on a regular basis. When video games got boring, i needed something else. I had actually known about this site for a long while, but i never really got into it. When i came here, i honestly thought it would be temporary, that i'd learn a bit then go somewhere else, possibly another game. But now that's not the plan.
First of all, i'd like to thank anyone who welcomed me when i first posted. If it weren't for them, i'd say 'what the hell' and go somewhere else. Next, i'd like to thank anyone who has written/posted a tutorial here. Thorough tutorials made it non-intimidating for me, i don't usually like challenges. And a BIG thanks to all the CnC'ers. CnC is the motivation i have to keep trying. If i get better and better CnC, i know i'm improving, and that is the primary thing that made me stay here for even this long. When i first joined, i believed that this would be a sort of community that i needed to prove my skill before i could really become a part of the community. I was wrong, really wrong. The equality here is amazing, everyone is treated equally, with the same amount of respect, and i really respect that. The maturity levels are astounding. Kudos to everyone who contributed to building this community, from the start. I wish i could give one mega +rep to everyone. I really feel like i belong here. You can rest assured, i will NOT be leaving.
Thank you, everyone.
