hey guys, basically... a friend wants me to make a sig out of this
http://i214.photobucket.com/albums/cc16/avatar_ftw/Potential_PortalCast.jpg
problem is, I really can't make anything special with that image. It's too dark to render it out and too black around it to make any effects and sticking c4ds in there would be a bit random.
so, are there any ideas when I get images like this, what would you do? I really tried my best, but it wouldn't come out so well. I found this extremely hard.
This would help me a lot, thanks.

That picture doesn't leave you with much.
Try making mosaic squares on and around the sig and see what that gives you.

its not possible to make a good sig using that pic.... simple as that
so tell your friend to find another pic or dont bother trying cuz its not possible imo

that could be a challenge or the simplest sig ever, its up 2 you.
you could find a pic with someone looking in a mirror and that pic could be his reflection (just an idea) or you toss some cool text effects and basically do nothing to the pic :)

Yeah I thought so... that's an extremely hard image to do something with.
Loki, well, what effects do you have in mind? Care to tell?

hmm... depends on what theme you are going for.
you could download a cool font you would like to use, or you could make your own...
then maybe animate it or make it "fancy" by putting a silight outer glow around it, maybe have a glowing orb behind it (off center)
maybe put some pentooling or vectoring coming off the text...
first I would take the image and adjust the lighting and maybe colors, blur the edges and sharpen the focal, that should help you figure out what kind of style text you want. But deffo brighten the pic up a bit.
an easy way to brighten up a pic; dup background layer, make sure duplicate is on top layer and set that layer to screen, see what that does, if it isn't the greatest, try adjusting the opacity and fill or play with different blending modes, then maybe take out the dodge and burn tool
