Tut req for Text-GIMP

ok i see a lot of tuts with text that glows or is bright or has an outer glow.ill link to ones on here.

Just go to the layer palette, and right click. Then hit blending options -> outer glow.

i dont see it anywhere.even in layer...help..this si for gimp right?

never used gimp before, but couldnt you just set smudge to 3-5% and smudge then blur, then take original text and put it over it? also for the colors you can do a color ballance and change the hue.
