Vector Signature Help

Does anyone here know how to make a good vector signature? I absolutely love this style but fail every time I attempt to recreate it. Here is my latest disaster.

It always ends up looking plain and boring. Do you guys have some good tutorials or tips on creating these little babies?

Ya know, i never really looked at vector sigs before, and i really like them, i think im gonna have a play today with these tuts :) hope they help you too hun

And I think I'll have a go at the flowing sig tut, looks freaking amazing. Plus, I didn't too much care for the Mario sig, wayyy too many vector brushes used imho.
